Introduction:
What is the difference between an Hashmap and Hashtable class in java

Answer:
The main difference between Hashmap and  Hashtable class in java is as below:

Hashmap class is by default non synchronized and thus not thread safe.

Hashtable is by default is synchronized and thus  thread safe.

So use Hashtable when dealing with Multi threading otherwise use

      Hashmap  to avoid overhead.
