What is the difference between database and Data Warehouse



Answer:
 A database is an collection of data organized in some way

 A data warehouse consists of more than just a database

 Below is the difference between the database and Data Warehouse

Database

1.mainly used to get the data to present to user as it is.

2.The tables and joins in database are complex since they are normalized to support general query.

3.Database is Optimized for write operation.

4.Data Warehouse gives high Performance for general queries.



Data Warehouse

1.mainly used to get the data for analysis and report.

2.The Tables and joins are simple since they are de-normalized to support analytical query.

3.Data Warehouse Optimized for read operations.

4.Data Warehouse gives High performance for analytical queries.
