Introduction:
How an applet can call a javascript function on its parent page



Main Content:
The applet must be given an id When deploying it.

This id is used later to obtain a reference to the applet object.

Suppose below is the javascript function that will call the applet.

where mathApplet is the name of the applet and getCustomerName()

is a public method in applet.

<script language="javascript">

 var customerName = mathApplet.getCustomerName();

</script>

Conclusion:
thus an applet can call a javascript function on its parent page
